7-9
dozen
Ingredients
2 cups butter
1 1/3 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Cream together butter and sugars.
Beat eggs into sugar mixture.
Add vanilla.
Beat until fluffy. This is
important to the final product.
Mix flour, soda and salt in a
bowl.
Add the dry ingredients.
Add chocolate chips.
Add nuts if you like.
Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet
and bake at 350° for 8-12 minutes . I have double layer cookie sheets. I bake
two sheets at a time and switch them on the shelves after six minutes. I bake
for 12 minutes total and cool them for six minutes before taking them off of
the sheets. They are light colored, soft,
and chewy. If I use my single thickness sheets they require less baking time.
Adjust times to the type sheets you use. Cooking longer will make them darker
and crunchy.
