The Oregon Iron Viking

     While I am a cook, not a collector of cast iron cookware, I do find the old stuff amazing. I look for good deals on the old pans, take them home, strip them, and season them. Then I try to find them a home where they'll be appreciated. Personally, I often wonder, as I'm cooking with the old pans, who else cooked with these old pans and on what kind of stove or heat, and what did they cook in them?. Some of mine are over 100 years old. Some of my working set are cracked, but they are very usable. I bake, roast, fry, and broil in them with no problem. As I previously stated, I am a cook, not a collector.
